The Forest of Dean is an area of outstanding natural beauty providing a wide range of outdoor leisure and adventure activities for all tastes and ages. To the northwest of the Tudor Farmhouse lies the Wye Valley and Symonds Yat Rock offering water sports and outdoor adventure activities set against a backdrop of extensive wildlife and dramatic scenary.

Within easy reach of the Tudor Farmhouse are towns hosting major cultural festivals throughout the year. These include the Hay-On-Wye and Cheltenham Festivals of Literature, Abergavenny Food Festival, Monmouth Agricultural show and Ross-On-Wye music festival.

The Forest of Dean and surrounding area have a fascinating and varied local history from medieval castles and abbeys, such as Raglan in the Welsh borders and Tintern Abbey, to the grandeur of Gloucester Cathedral. The area is renowned for its mining heritage and there is no better place to start than Clearwell Caves, within walking distance of the Tudor Farmhouse.
