For tables of 9 or more, as well as any size table on special occasions (Mother’s Day, Christmas Day, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day and New Year’s Eve), we ask for deposits as follows:

£10 per person for dinner and lunch bookings

£5 per person for afternoon tea bookings

The garden room is available for private dining groups of 16 or more. There is no charge for room hire, but a minimum spend of £50 per head is expected. Should your numbers subsequently drop below 16, we can only guarantee private dining if the minimum spend remains £800 for the table. Please note that we do not accept tables of this size on Saturday nights unless you are also resident in the hotel.

Our kitchen is small and therefore to aid with our service and your enjoyment of the evening, we ask that for tables of 9 or more that you either pre-order from the main menu, or opt for a reduced menu should you wish to order on the evening. For tables of 12 or more, a reduced menu will be provided from which we will require a pre-order at least 72 hours in advance.

Cancellation Policy

We now require credit card details for all bookings to guarantee your table. If you need to cancel we ask that you do so more than 12 hours in advance of your table booking to give us a chance to resell the table. Cancellations notified within 12 hours of your table booking will incur a £10 per head cancellation fee. Should you not provide us with any notice of cancellation and simply not show up a £50 per person charge for dinner bookings will be made, £20 per person for afternoon tea and £30 per person for lunch. You should notify us of cancellation by email to [email protected] or by clicking CANCEL on our confirmation emails. Thank you for your understanding.

Deposits on table of 9 or more taken are non-refundable in the event of cancellation within 3 weeks of the date of booking. Deposits on smaller tables on special occasions are non-refundable within 1 week of the date of booking. Cancellation or a reduction in the number of people on any reservation, with less than 72 hours notice, will result in a cancellation charge of 75% of the menu value for each person cancelled. These charges will also be levied for No Shows.

Should your table size change prior to your booking, please inform us as soon as possible. If there will now be more of you, we can make no guarantee that we will be able to fit you in. If your party size decreases by up to 2 people, and we are notified 24 hours in advance, then no charge will be made for this. However, should your party decrease on the day itself or someone not show up, then we will charge you in full for the food ordered. If your party size decreases by more than 2, the deposit paid on these bookings will be lost.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking if:

  • Any part of the hotel is closed or otherwise unavailable because of events outside our control.
  • You or we become insolvent or in the case of an individual, become subject to a bankruptcy petition.
  • The booking might damage the reputation of the hotel.
