Forest Gazing & Grazing Break

Escape to the Forest of Dean for a four night Forest Gazing & Grazing break — a four-night break designed to help guests reconnect with nature while including lots of foodie treats and relaxing massages. This break gives you time to enjoy several adventures which have been curated for guests. Inclusions and recommended itinerary are as follows:

  • Four nights’ accommodation in one of our stylish, characterful rooms
  • Breakfast each morning made with the best local ingredients
  • Day 1 – arrive and relax – perhaps visit the ancient woodlands of Puzzlewood, just a short drive away on route.
  • Day 2 – A private half-day walking wildlife safari led by expert guide Liz Dewitt
  • Day 3 Full day E-bike rental to enjoy a cycling safari with suggested mapped out routes to explore the area’s many off-road trails and scenic routes in the Forest of Dean itself as well as exploring further afield to Tintern and the Wye Valley. Between April and September guests will be able to explore the five mile off road ‘Greenway’ between Chepstow and Tintern which is the perfect way of exploring the lower Wye Valley – travelling partially through the beautiful renovated railway tunnel at Tidenham (closed at other times to protect the resident bat population !). A visit to Tintern Abbey is a must! 
  • Day 4 Pick up a delicious picnic lunch and choose one of the many recommended walks you can do directly from the hotel – reception has printed maps or can recommend downloads. 

Other extras included are a restorative massage each to unwind deeply after days spent outdoors, a five course tasting menu at the hotel’s 2 AA rosette restaurant one night and a three course a la carte dinner on one night – included in the overall price.  Other meals and drinks can be booked and paid for as extras.
