Christmas Activities
The Christmas festivities begin on Christmas Eve with a visit to Clearwell Caves to discover a secret world 100ft beneath the forest floor, exploring underground caves adorned with twinkling lights and filled with festive stalls offering last-minute stocking fillers and seasonal treats. If you have little ones in tow, they will love the story of Archie and the Unicorn which unfolds on beautiful displays throughout the caverns before Santa helps them to choose an early Christmas gift. Then, head back to the hotel for a warming glass of mulled wine and a mince pie whilst listening to the sounds of our brass quartet before dinner.
On Christmas Day, wake to a sparkling Bucks Fizz breakfast before warming toes and opening presents in front of the cosy log burner. At lunchtime, enjoy a gourmet take on the traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings (plus options for veggies and vegans) before donning wellies and taking a walk around the hotel’s gardens or heading to nearby beauty spot Symonds Yat for a Christmas ramble along the River Wye. Come evening, a light buffet is the perfect way to end the day.
On Boxing Day enjoy another lazy breakfast before wrapping up warm and taking a guided wintery walk exploring the nearby forest, returning in time for tea and a slice of Christmas cake in front of the fire. In the evening enjoy a relaxed five-course tasting menu (with all ingredients sourced within a 20-mile radius of the hotel) followed by a glass of chilled Champagne and a wonderful magic show.
