Xinomavro “Jeunes Vignes” Thymiopoulos 2017
We are constantly on the look-out for new and interesting wines to add to the list and we’ve just found this gem from Greece.
It is made biodynamically from the tricky Xinomavro (pronounced ksee-NOH-mah-vroh) grape by superstar of Greek wine, Apostolos Thymiopoulos. It is bright, pure and elegant with a wonderful perfume bursting with red fruits and a twist of fresh mint. It’s a lovely drinkable light red yet is deceptively complex, like a cross between pinot noir and nebbiolo.
We hope you seek it out next time you’re here, and don’t worry about the pronunciation, just ask for the Greek wine, we’ll know what you mean!
