Stargazing Safari

Join star storyteller Jim Bell for a magical stargazing experience beneath the dark skies of the Forest of Dean. From our hillside setting at Tudor Farmhouse Hotel, you’ll explore the night sky through binoculars and guided observation, discovering constellations, planets and the stories woven through the universe.

With over a decade of experience inspiring audiences through Explorer Dome, Jim brings astronomy to life for all ages and levels of experience. And because British weather can be unpredictable, the experience also includes access to Jim’s immersive portable planetarium, ensuring an unforgettable evening whatever the conditions.

Perfect for couples, families and curious explorers, the Stargazing Safari is a unique way to experience the beauty of the Forest of Dean after dark.

You will be provided with a pair of binoculars for observing, but please also bring warm layers and boots or robust walking shoes. To get to our hillside viewpoint, there is a steep walk across the fields at the back of the hotel. The experience lasts approximately two hours and starts at between 6.30pm and 8pm depending on the time of year.
