Get Creative This Christmas
Fancy a little festive making without joining us for the full Christmas Craft Retreat?
This year, you can book selected workshops individually and spend a few creative hours learning something new with one of our talented local makers. From glasswork and batik to embroidery, felting and wreath making, each workshop is relaxed, friendly and suitable for beginners.
Come with a friend, bring someone as an early Christmas treat, or simply come along on your own. You’ll create something beautiful to take home – and enjoy a little Tudor Farmhouse hospitality along the way.
Choose your workshop below and come and make something this Christmas, or alternatively come & stay and experience all of the workshops on our Christmas Craft Retreat.
Christmas Craft Retreat
Batik with Sian Burns Art
24th November
£80 per person
Artist Sian Burns will introduce you to batik, the traditional technique of creating designs using hot wax and coloured dyes.
You’ll learn how the process works before creating your own piece to take home.
It’s colourful, creative and wonderfully absorbing – and another opportunity to try a craft you might never otherwise have attempted.
The workshop will be followed by our festive afternoon tea.
Felt Decorations
25th November
£80 per person
Mo will introduce you to the wonderfully tactile art of felting.
You’ll create your own Christmas ornaments to take home and bring out year after year.
No previous experience is necessary – Mo will guide you through the process from start to finish.
Before the workshop, you will have our festive afternoon tea.
Christmas Coasters
25th November
£90 per person
You’ll create a set of four seasonal glass coasters, choosing and arranging your design before Becci takes you through the process of creating your own festive glassware.
A beautiful addition to your Christmas table – or four rather good handmade presents if you can bear to give them away.
Before your workshop, you will have a festive afternoon tea.
Festive Embroidery
26th November
£130 per person
Enjoy the luxury of slowing things down with a full day of embroidery led by Jen from Sew Forest of Dean.
With plenty of time to learn the techniques and work at your own pace, you’ll create and complete your own embroidery project during the day.
Whether you’re already comfortable with needle and thread or haven’t embroidered before, Jen will be there to guide you.
A two course festive lunch is included.
