The year is 2003, a year full of talking points, Beyonce released Crazy in Love, Apple launched iTunes music store, Dan Brown published The Da Vinci Code but most importantly, Tudor Farmhouse welcomed its new owners – Hari and Colin Fell.
Twenty years later, this award winning luxury, yet laid back boutique hotel, is still going strong. So much so that Hari and Colin are marking its 20th birthday by celebrating in style and offering guests a special ‘20 Year Package.’
The package will celebrate all that has made Tudor Farmhouse so successful over the years. It will be utilising the stunning local pantry by offering a 6 course tasting menu with ingredients all plucked within the 20 mile radius of the hotel. This will be served with an equally delicious wine pairing. Fear not, non drinkers, forward thinking Tudor Farmhouse has recently launched an extensive no and low alcohol drinks list. It wasn’t too long ago that the concept of low / non alcohol drinks consisted of soda & lime, coca cola or a Shandy Bass – thankfully those days are a thing of the past and Tudor Farmhouse is leading the charge with their new NoLo Menu. Their new NoLo drinks list consists of a series of tipples to cover all bases, whether that be a pre dinner cocktail Bax Batch Martini, a bottle of Thomson & Scott Noughty Rouge De-Alcoholised Syrah with supper or post dinner NoGroni – there really is something for everyone.
The hotel has a marvellous little Shepherd’s Hut offering treatments and they’ll be throwing in two of these too – think deep tissue treatments to sink into a world of peace and relaxation or facials to reinvigorate the skin or even reflexology to stimulate affected areas and nurture healing.
This package will help those in need of a longer time away, it’s three nights meaning there is time for a celebration and reflection. Time to wine and dine but time to walk, bike and unwind. On the wining and dining days, start the day as you mean to go on with breakfast in bed supercharged with Champagne or Noughty Non-Alcoholic Prosecco for the non-drinkers. Lastly, there will be something for guests to choose from – either an e-biking excursion, a wildlife safari with specialist Ed Drewitt or a paddle boarding session. From novice bikers to adrenaline junkies, there is something for everyone. The Forest of Dean is ideal for off-piste pedalling with 35 square miles of Forestry Commission land to explore, plus over 50 miles of way-marked paths and winding climbs. The rise of e-bikes makes even tough routes a walk in the park. Stunning landscapes and a variety of cycling routes means there’s something for every age and skill level.
