Bestie Dates and Breaks

Bestie Dates and Breaks In today’s busy world it is especially important to carve out some time to spend with some of the people who matter the most to you, your friends.

We are excited to introduce you to our new collection of ‘bestie dates and breaks’, a specially curated collection of daytime experiences designed to help you step off the conveyor belt and enjoy some meaningful time with a close friend or group of friends in your life.

Whether you have a few hours or you’re free for an overnight stay, there’s a choice of options to help you escape, connect and nourish your friendship.

Many of our options will involve getting out in nature, but we have also got a whole host of crafting and mindfulness options available too. We can combine experiences with delicious dining options at the hotel which could involve gourmet picnics, lunching al fresco, crafternoon teas or indulging in a six course tasting menu.

It’s all about social connection which is one of the main pillars of wellbeing. Strong social ties contribute to longevity, mental health, and cognitive well-being. Most importantly it’s fun to catch up with friends and setting a ‘bestie date’ is a great way to make sure it happens.

Move over the spa day, this bestie date is all about spending time in nature with a friend in the beautiful Forest of Dean and treating yourself to lunch, tea, dinner or a cocktail or two at the hotel.

Stroll and Share Stories

Tudor Farmhouse is the ideal base to meet friends and go for one of our many recommended walks in the Forest of Dean before returning for a delicious lunch or supper. We have a choice of printed maps. Make a longer day of it and book one of our gourmet picnics before returning for afternoon tea.

Pedal with Pals

You can arrange an e-bike safari as our supplier will deliver the bikes directly to the hotel and kit you and your bestie out, as well as recommending some routes to enjoy the many cycling trails around the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. This is a great way to cover a lot of ground whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery, switching on the ‘pedal assist’ when you most need it! We will serve you a great coffee to send you on your way and have a delicious meal ready for your return! Over 18s only.

Foraging and Wildlife Safari Hang Outs

We run a wide choice of expert led foraging and wildlife safaris, a fun way to hang out with friends, join a group walk to spend time in nature and of course learn something new. Check out a wide range of dates for our small group safaris or book a bespoke experience for you and your friends.

Knit and Natter

Join one of the hotel’s regular Chunky Knit Blanket Workshops, a great mindfulness practice as swell as an opportunity to chat as well as learning a new skill and producing a cosy blanket – from £75 per person.

Caving Connections

Go deep under the Forest, visiting parts of this labyrinth of over 250 acres of passageways and caverns at Clearwell Caves on a Deep Level Caving experience, very close to the hotel. Renew your friendship bonds as you walk, crawl, slither and clamber your way down to over 200ft (62m) underground. An adventurous and great fun experience followed by a spoiling lunch or afternoon tea back at Tudor Farmhouse. Caving is priced from £40 per person

Crafternoon Teas

Our new Crafternoon Teas are perfect to invite for some fun catch up time with a friend. Enjoy our signature afternoon tea (sweet or savoury!) with an exciting craft experience. There’s a range of activities on offer, all run by local crafts people including designing your own plant pots, enamelling and lino printing. Prices start from £60 to include tuition, all materials and afternoon tea.

Make a longer ‘break’ of it by adding an overnight stay with our special ‘bestie break’ overnight dinner, bed and breakfast rate of £199 per room. So, mute the phone, grab your bestie/s and join us soon.
